Carlo Rotunno, young Italian singer, already at the court of the United Nations, adopted and appointed as Artist Ambassador for Human Rights.
Carlo owes his passion for singing to the innate musical gifts that have always characterized his person.
He studied music from an early age and in 2012 he obtained a diploma in opera singing at the Conservatory of Music “E. R. Duni “of Matera with honors and honorable mention. In 2015 he concludes his studies being awarded the Bachelor’s Degree in Music – Singing, getting top honors.
Over the years he took part in many master classes with renowned singers, such as Katia Ricciarelli, Stefania Bonfadelli and Chiara Taigi; aimed at perfecting technical voice-interpretation that earned him, in 2013, the first prize at the “G.B. Velluti” International Singing Competition and the Amifest special prize at the International Opera Tommaso Traetta competition.
The flexibility in the art of singing brought him not only to establish himself as an opera singer, as well as experimenting in lyric-pop. Thanks to the latter, he took part in well-known television programs broadcast by RAI (the italian national television), such as: Italian Festival, “The Recommended”, “Evening for Young Talents” (during which he was able to achieve victory in the category of opera and the title of Absolute talent of the evening) and “Christmas Concert 2012”. 2012 is the year of the victory in the lyric category in the Cantagiro song festival, a stepping stone for the great Italian voices. In 2013 and 2015 he was protagonist in a series of solo concerts in Canada in Vancouver.
In 2011 he is involved in the context of the Braille Award, aired on RAI UNO and in December 2014 received the third prize for the “Big” category at the “Vinile d’Argento”.
In September 2015 he accepted the invitation to perform at the Expo of Milan reaping huge acclaim from audiences.
In lyrical landscape he established himself as an undisputed star of the following operas, such as “Elixir of Love”, “Don Giovanni”, “La Boheme” and “Madama Butterfly”; as well as a supporting actor in the works: “Barber of Seville”, “Rigoletto”, “La Traviata”, “Cosi fan tutte” and “Don Pasquale”.
The Theater of Craiova in Romania hosted his concert, supported by 70 orchestral elements.
Extremely busy even in sacred music, with examples like “La Petite Messe Solennelle” by G. Rossini and “The Life of Mary” by N. Rota.
He was given the honor to perform the world premiere, as a baritone soloist, of “The Symphony of the Eucharist”, broadcast live on television worldwide, composed by Father A. Pierucci, that took place respectively at the Garden of Gethsemane in Jerusalem, the headquarters of UN Geneva, Milan Cathedral and the stones of Matera.
In 2010 he performed in Washington as a guest of NIAF, and again in October 2015. He sing int the concert on the occasion of the beatification of Pope John Paul II, broadcast by RAI 3, accompanied by Soprano Cecilia Gasdia.
Such a career filled with countless commitments also counts the recording of four albums containing cover and original songs, of which he is the author: “Hybrid – Night of an ordinary day” – “You, only you” and “I feel”.
